Diversified and Challenging nature of these services prompted me to choose civil services as my career.

What is your impression of the interview Board ?

Interview Board was very cordial. The members of the board gave me enough time to answer the questions.

How did your parents, other family members and friends contribute to your success ?

My Parents and family members helped me both monetarily and morally. They tired to provide me every facility that I needed during the course of preparation for the examination. I discussed some important topics and issues with my friends before my interview.

Had you not been selected in the Civil Services Examination, what other career would you have opted for?

Teaching

How would you visualize your success ?

I am happy that my hard work and perseverance have finally paid off by God’s Grace.

What were your optional for the civil service examination ? What were criteria for their selection ?

My optional were Geography and Political Science. My interest and the utility of these subjects in General Studies Papers were the criteria for their selection.

What do you think about implementation of negative marking in ICS exam ? Has this made regular question practice inevitable ?

Yes, ofcourse the implementation of negative marking the made regular practice inevitable because now you can’t take a chance of ticking a wrong answer that can make you out of competition and regular practice helps prevent these mistakes.

Do you feel that there should be no restriction on the number of attempts allowed in ICS ?

Yes, I think that some more attempts should be allowed to the candidates.

What is your message for the future aspirants ?

Sincerity and Hard work always pay, have faith in your capabilities any try hard.

What was your Biggest mistake during preparation of these exams.

I tried to avoid commission to any big mistake.

To my parents, my sister and my friends.

1. Prelims :-

I did comprehensive studies covering all the useful and relevant topics and issues with regular practice at www.nceiindia.com which helped me minimize the mistakes.

2. Mains :-

I concentrated on the syllabus and read standard books.

3. Personality test/interview :-

For interview I prepared some important relevant and current topics and discussed those with my friends I also a cursory look on my optional.

Were you confident of your success. How did you react to the success news ?

Yes, I was confident about my success but I did not hope to be selected among the top 10. I was very happy.

Before knowing your result, what was your perception about toppers ?

Toppers are hard working people with sincerity and perseverance with a better strategy.

In how many attempts have you achieved this success ? How do you visualize your performance in previous attempts. What were you service preferences.

This my second attempt. In my previous attempt I got selected for the post of Distt. Backward Classes Welfare Officer.

What was your strategy for time management during preparation as well as during examination.

During preparation I gave equal time to optional as well as General Studies. During Examination I tried to be precise and to the point while answering the questions which helped to complete the paper within the prescribed limit.

For General Studies:- NCERT Books, Spectrum Series books and magazines.

For Geography:- Physical Geography by Savindra Singh, Climatology (D.S.lal), Oceanography (Vattal), Human Geography-Majid Hussain, Indian Geography D.R. Khullar.

What is importance of medium of expression in these exams.

A medium in the best medium in which you can express yourself in the best manner. It is not he medium but your performance that counts.

In your opinion, what is value of regular self evaluation as an important ingredient of any strategic plan for success in civil services ?

In competitive exams regular self evaluation is must because regular evaluation can help you minimize your mistakes.
